“TAMPINES IS THE BEST BECAUSE…” Photo & Video Competition

Get ready to showcase your talent and creativity because the Tampines Town Council photography competition is back, and this year, we will be launching a related videography competition too! Whether you're an amateur or a seasoned pro, this is your chance to shine and win amazing prizes!

Tampines residents have access to 4 MRT stations, 3 shopping malls, a 22 km cycling network, and Our Tampines Hub, Singapore’s largest integrated community and lifestyle hub just to name a few. Residents must feel proud to proclaim that #TampinesSideBestSide!

Submit a photo/video entry of yourself with one or more of the following

• your most dependable Tampines estate amenity (e.g. a linkway in the neighbourhood)
• your favourite sustainability initiative (e.g. the Black Soldier facility in Tampines Park)
• a care programme or facility that you are thankful for (HealthUp Programme or the Tampines Polyclinic)

In your photo or video, tell us why you think Tampines is the best by starting with the sentence “Tampines is the best because...”

Closing Date: 25 Aug 2024

1. All entries must be submitted by 2359 on 8 September 2024.
2. The Competition is open to all Tampines residents (Singapore citizens, PRs and foreigners) and entry is free
3. Participants under the age of 18 years old as at 1 July 2024 must obtain consent of parents or legal guardians and by participating in this Contest, it is deemed that consent has been obtained.
4. For schools and group submissions (more than 20 submissions), please email us at comms@ttc.org.sg to make arrangements.
5. Photo and video entries submitted must be the Participant’s own work and must own the copyright of the entry
6. Photo & video entries must be taken in Tampines and they must include you with the estate amenities and sustainability / care initiatives.
7. All entries must be submitted to https://bit.ly/TampinesIsTheBestBecause
8. Each participant may submit a maximum of one entry per category. In the event of multiple submissions by a single participant, only the latest entry will be considered.
9. The Organiser reserves the sole and absolute discretion to exclude or disqualify any Participant and/or entry from the Competition
10. Photos and videos that have won prizes in other photography Competition, or have been previously used or are intended to be used for any kind of commercial purposes, must not be submitted
11. Digital manipulation that distorts the reality of the photographs is not allowed. Only basic enhancements such as sharpening, contrast adjustment, conversion of colour images to black and white are allowed
12. Each photograph entry must be submitted digitally in JPEG format and be no larger than 5MB in size. The longest side of the photograph must be at least 2000 pixels in JPEG format
13. Photograph entries must include a caption of why you think Tampines is the best. In less than 30 words, start the caption with” Tampines is the best because ….”
14. Each video entry must be vertical in a 9:16 format (Portrait)
15. Each video entry must include you with a sound bite that starts with “Tampines is the best because … “
16. Each video has to include a b-roll
17. Each video must be between 15 and 30 seconds in duration. Videos that are shorter or longer than this specified range will not be considered
18. Each video entry must be submitted in MP4 format and be no larger than 100MB in size
19. Photo and video entries should not contain any obscene, incendiary, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable or inappropriate content
20. Any form of plagiarism or use of copyrighted content will not be accepted. Entries which have won prizes in other photo / video competition, or have been previously used or are intended to be used for any kind of commercial purposes, will not be accepted as well. Participants will indemnify Tampines Town Council against any claims on infringement of copyright relating to their entries
21. By participating in this Competition, the Participant warrants that he/she has not obtained the photo or video via any unethical means
22. Tampines Town Council reserves the right to exclude or disqualify any entries that do not meet the requirement
23. All entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges and all decisions are final. No correspondences or appeals will be entertained.
24. Winners may be interviewed by the Organiser. All winners consent to public disclosure of their names and the results of the Competition
25. The Participant grants the Organiser and its associates a non-exclusive, royalty-free and transferable right to use, reproduce, publish, publicly display, print, edit or distribute any materials submitted for the Competition in any media format and any media channels as deemed fit by the Organiser, for the purposes of promoting the Competition and raising awareness for Tampines Town Council
26. Tampines Town Council reserves the right to make any changes to the Terms and Conditions set out herein and any other arrangements concerning the competition
